Flatbread Moment – Diego and His Hospitalized Mother, Nelly, Find Support and Strength Through Pizza

Italians have long celebrated that eating food is far more than an act of satisfying hunger. Authentic cuisine ties us to our ancestors by passing down recipes that are woven into the fabric of our families. Food is magical in that it transports us into cherished memories, brings friends and family together, as well as helps sustain us both physically and emotionally. This is something we feel very deeply at Flatbread. We are incredibly honored when guests choose to include us in significant events in their lives, and grateful when they share their “Flatbread moments” with us. Following is a touching letter and photo we received from Diego, who wrote to tell us about how he and his mom became part of the Flatbread family after she was in a car accident that left her in the Intensive Care Unit.
